Position purpose

Provides advice and professional support to the Director Global Partnerships in developing reviewing and negotiating international partnership agreements. Evaluates risks and operational impacts associated with international partnership commitments. Acts as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders including the Faculties Legal Services the Registrars Office and Financial Services to ensure agreements align with university policies procedures and operational realities. Serves as a key contact for international partners during the agreement development process.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Advisory Services: Provides professional writing expertise and support to the Director and Global Partnerships team in the development and review of international partnership agreements. Analyzes terms and conditions identifies potential risks and impacts and recommends solutions to address problematic issues. Ensures agreements comply with university policies and procedures.
  • Agreement Expertise: Maintains up-to-date knowledge of academic agreement best practices as well as trends and regulations related to international higher education partnerships. Able to articulate the regulations on dual degrees student mobility collaborative programs.
  • Liaison and Coordination: Serves as the primary point of contact between the Global Partnerships team and internal stakeholders involved in international partnerships including Legal Services the Registrars Office Financial Services faculties and research teams. Facilitates timely review of agreements and resolution of issues. Coordinates the agreement approval and signature process.
  • Operational Alignment: Works closely with internal stakeholders to assess the operational impacts and feasibility of agreement terms and commitments. Identifies potential challenges or resource constraints. Proposes alternative approaches to achieve objectives while aligning with operational realities. Develops tools and processes to monitor fulfillment of agreement commitments.
  • Relationship Management: Establishes productive relationships with international partners and serves as a key contact during the agreement development and review process. Communicates agreement terms and commitments to partners. Conducts partner onboarding to facilitate smooth agreement implementation.
  • Data and Reporting: Maintains centralized records and data on international partnership agreements. Prepares status reports and analytics to inform leadership and support strategic planning. Ensures agreement records are complete up-to-date and accessible to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identifies opportunities to streamline agreement development processes and tools. Recommends and implements improvements to increase efficiency mitigate risks and strengthen internal coordination. Organizes training and information sessions for faculty and staff engaged in international partnerships.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in international relations higher education business administration law or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience developing and managing international partnership agreements.
  • Expert knowledge of the international higher education landscape partnership models and agreement types.
  • Familiarity with the operational realities and systems of universities especially related to student mobility research collaboration and faculty engagement.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex agreements and identify creative solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills to coordinate multiple agreement workflows.
  • Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining well-organized records.
  • Skilled at presenting information in a clear concise manner tailored to the audience.
  • Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in English and French required. Additional languages an asset.

The rating is determined by a proficiency test designed by the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute.
