OUR ROLE

As a member of our Managed Services team our IT Service Desk Support Specialist will be a key contributor to the successful delivery of our Agile Managed Services to one of our core clients. Upon commencement youll jump into our on-site client team to deliver essential technical support to our client. As part of our small service desk team you will diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues ensuring efficient IT operations high quality support and implementing an innovative best practice client focused outcome whilst utilising Agile approaches to automation self-service and the enhancement of IT service delivery.

On a day to day basis you will:

  • Operate as part of an integrated service desk and desktop support team to ensure operational on-site coverage across extended business support hours from 08:00 18:00 (during business days) and also on-call support outside of business hours
  • Provide timely and effective technical support for hardware software and network issues encountered by end-users
  • Address and resolve issues related to desktop computers laptops printers and peripheral devices
  • Deploy and support approved desktops laptop devices and associated peripherals including Windows operating environments. performing routine maintenance and updates on desktop systems including software installations operating system upgrades and patches
  • Perform basic repairs and analysis of hardware faults in desktop equipment and approved mobile devices
  • Assist users with troubleshooting setting up new devices and configuring applications
  • Assist in delivering a successful continual service improvement program driven through proactive service ideas such as the automation of workflows and adoption of self-service capabilities to improve the delivery of services and enhance the client experience

KEY ELIGIBILITY

As you will be working to a Federal Government client we are seeking Australian Citizens who have an active Baseline or higher security clearance.

LOCATION & HOURS

This role operates 100% on client site which is located in Canberra ACT therefore we are seeking candidates based in this location only. You will also need to have the flexibility to provide support coverage outside of normal business hours if required as this role will be part of an on-call roster.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a Service Desk role in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience in Federal Government environment will be highly valued
  • Strong knowledge of IT desktop and laptop hardware platforms
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and common productivity software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting actions
  • Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow is desirable but not essential
  • Strong communication skills including written verbal and presentation
  • A high level of organisation time management with the ability to adapt and respond promptly to changing and competing priorities at short notice
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to think laterally and propose solutions
  • Excellent client relationship building skills with the ability to deal with various stakeholders and translate their needs into a complete solution
  • Self-starting with the ability to drive your own actions whilst also working as part of a team
