Job Description
Job Title: Director of Surgical Services
Location: San Jose CA
Schedule: 5x8 Hour Day Shift No Weekends 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
Salary Range: $184683.20 - $230838.40 (based on experience)
Performance Bonus: Up to 17.5% annual incentive
Sign-On Bonus: Evaluated case-by-case
Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case basis
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to oversee and lead perioperative operations. This high-impact role is responsible for strategic planning financial management and clinical oversight of surgical services ensuring safe high-quality and cost-effective care. The ideal candidate is a strong transformational leader with a background in surgical services and hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the surgical services department including OR operations staffing scheduling and compliance.
- Oversee budgets resource allocation and financial performance.
- Partner with physicians department heads and senior leadership to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Drive performance improvement initiatives and clinical excellence across all surgical units.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory accreditation and safety standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability staff development and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience in hospital-based surgical services required.
- Strong understanding of perioperative workflows quality metrics and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelors degree in Nursing Healthcare Administration or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
- Current RN license strongly preferred (may vary based on facility requirements).
