Position Summary

The HR Co-Op will support the Human Resources department in various functions gaining hands-on experience in recruitment employee relations compliance and HR administration within a manufacturing environment. This role provides an opportunity to develop HR skills while contributing to a dynamic workplace. The position will be based in Gurnee Illinois.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruitment processes including coordinating onsite scheduling availability and resume screening.
  • Support new hire orientation training sessions and documentation.
  • Help maintain HR records including personnel files and compliance documentation.
  • Participate in employee engagement initiatives and workplace culture development.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws.
  • Assist in basic investigations related to workplace incidents employee concerns or compliance issues.
  • Support performance management efforts including assisting with employee write-ups and maintaining disciplinary documentation.

Education & Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Human Resources or related field.

Knowledge Skills & Talents

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Interest in HR compliance labor laws and employee relations.
  • Willingness to collaborate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • A desire to learn the companys business and industry coupled with a desire for professional growth.
  • Computer literacy with proficient use of Microsoft (Excel PowerPoint Word).
