Position Summary:
This position will provide installation maintenance and repair of the districts technology equipment. Provides assistance and support for the operation of the districts networking system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide hardware and software support for District local and wide area network to include:
- technical assistance to users;
- setup and installation of network workstations;
- installation and configuration of peripheral equipment.
- Assist building-level technology support personnel as assigned.
- Perform diagnostic and repair tasks on all district computer-related equipment (both Windows and iOS systems) including but not limited to computers ipads drives monitors and printers.
- Keep informed of new technology equipment and applications to assist in recommending coordinating and standardizing District equipment acquisitions.
- Maintain technical expertise through periodic training current reading and workshops.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance program for all equipment which includes inventory maintenance and service record files. Understand and use the online work order system.
- Maintain accurate and organized records related to all repair work including parts ordered and returned.
- Monitor network operation to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain logs and records to track network operation and problems.
- Perform effective customer service support to users through on-site telephone or on-line assistance.
- Work cooperatively and professionally with all administrators staff students and contractor personnel.
- Understand and practice all safety requirements associated with electrical work.
- Evaluate and research potential software and hardware solutions to provide recommendations for potential purchase.
- Perform other duties assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED. College vocational or technical training in computer hardware software and network systems.
- Two years computer-related maintenance work preferred.
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.
Certificates/Licenses:
- Possess a valid Washington State motor vehicle operators license and a good driving record.

- Knowledge and experience with LAN and/or WAN environments.
- Knowledge and experience with multiple operating systems.
- Knowledge of installation of routers hubs concentrators and network cabling.
- Physical ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment efficiently and safely.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to read English and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to make effective presentations and train individuals with multiple skill levels.
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain professional attitude and composure in stressful situations.
- Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities and assigned tasks for efficient use of time.
- Ability to deal with interruptions detailed work deadlines multiple concurrent tasks constant use of telephones.
- Ability to read analyze and interpret technical manuals or regulations.
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time and work with visual display terminals for extended periods of time.
