About the opportunity
eBay Motors is a multi-billion dollar global portfolio with a focus on the vehicle parts & accessories business which is among the largest on eBay and core to eBays strategic future. Within that the used parts segment (also known as green parts salvage parts or recycled parts) is a key part of our strategic investment.
We are looking to hire a Senior Manager of Used/ Recycled Vehicle Parts who will be responsible for shaping and executing key initiatives for the segment in Germany. This individual will be responsible for accelerating segment growth through influencing cross-functional teams at eBay (such as category and account managers product managers and analytics) and collaborating with key external partners (such as companies in the collision and repair space recyclers / salvage yards insurance companies and segment software providers). This role will customize the broader Salvage strategy for the German market keeping in mind seller and buyer dynamics and overarching regulatory and market ecosystems. Elements of the role include the identification business case development program management and delivery of key projects in service of creating a trusted destination suited for online sales of used condition parts.
This is an individual contributor role located outside of Berlin DE and will report into the Global Director of Salvage.
The ideal candidate is an independent thinker and effective operator who understands the dynamics of two-sided e-commerce marketplaces appreciates the unique needs of the salvage/recycled segment and collaborates well with cross-functional partners. Experience partnering with internal and external stakeholders to define and drive programs and projects to completion will be helpful.
What you will accomplish:
Scoping defining and planning long-term strategic projects in collaboration with a range of internal and external partners
Identifying and driving progress against milestones and identifying opportunities to accelerate progress while managing risk
Developing relationships with commercial partners and ecosystem players as well as internal colleagues across multiple teams
Understanding and addressing seller and buyer needs and concerns within the segment
Developing a deep understanding of business performance underlying drivers and opportunities for growth within Germany
Build and own executive-ready presentations on strategy and operational updates
What you will bring:
Demonstrated ability to project manage a cross-functional group of peers and lead through influence
Fluency in German
Data-driven approach to planning and decision making and adept with data and analytics
Organized problem solver who balances attention to detail with efficiency
5 years of related experience including 3 years at a top-tier management consulting firm investment bank or in a corporate strategy role at a major corporation preferred but not required
Industry experience in the salvage/recycled collision/repair or other automotive segments preferred but not required
BA/BS required
