Schedule: Monday - Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm
General Purpose: Performs a variety of facility and machine maintenance duties which include chip spinning oil recycling preventive machine maintenance and repair.
Essential Duties:
- Assist Maintenance team with set up and testing of all new machinery upon arrival at LPI.
- Collect and sort chip buckets and bins according to the material type. Organize parts for processing. Remove oils from chips and transfer material to designated container.
- Organize recyclable bins for pick up.
- Ensure the fluid recovery unit is properly maintained and functions effectively.
- Regularly conduct inspections to ensure fluid recovery unit is properly maintained.
- Conduct regular inspections of the dispensing area to check oil and chemical levels in storage tanks or containers. Ensure oil/chemicals are at adequate levels for dispensing. Change out empty drums as needed.
- Ensure there are no leaks or spills. Follow safety measures and protocols when handling oils and chemicals.
- Operate forklift machinery to unload material from incoming vehicles stacking/ organizing in designated areas.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Responds to machine repair needs.
- Maintains and or performs scheduled preventative maintenance inspections on production equipment.
- Ensure proper handling of all material leaving the building.
- Assist with transport of equipment and materials within and to and from all facilities.
- Assemble equipment and furniture as needed.
- Performs minor building repairs and maintenance. (Toilets faucets doors furniture HVAC units and compressors.)
- Assists with minor upgrades to production equipment and facility.
Education / Experience: 1-2 years of experience preferred. Must have previous experience in facilities maintenance or similar role preferred. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Language Skills: Will be required to read and comprehend instructions correspondence and memos to write correspondence memos and schedule; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests clients and fellow staff.
Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills required.
Environment/Noise: Most work is performed indoors. Some work may be performed outside in all types of weather in open/enclosed drivers seats or cabs on land. Is exposed to noise vibration dust oil dirt and fumes.
Physical Demands:
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Occasional periods of walking and standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 - 40 pounds at a time.
- Occasionally climbs balances stoops kneels crawls or crouches.
- Consistently turning and moving of hands arms feet and legs.
