General Summary:Reporting to the Pastor the Business Manager oversees coordinates and administrates the general office and financial activities of the parish so that the parish can effectively make Spirit-filled missionary disciples of Jesus Christ. Principal Responsibilities: A. Personnel - Coordinate all administrative and business activities of the parish religious education youth ministry campus ministry and other parish entities with regards to human resources e.g. salaries personnel policies employment laws etc.
- Hire train (as needed) supervise and evaluate all parish maintenance parish janitorial housekeeping and bookkeeping personnel. Administer all parish personnel policies.
- Develop and recommend to the pastor and other appropriate parish staff persons the necessary policies methods and procedures needed for conducting financial accounting and other administrative services.
- Develop and maintain computer assets of the parish including network and devices.
- Supervise: Office Staff Parish Secretary Maintenance and Janitorial Personnel.
- Serve as Safe Environment Coordinator and maintain all parish background check and safe environment training records for all staff and volunteers. Complete annual audit requirements.
B. Finance - Prepare a yearly budget (in consultation with the pastor and parish finance council) monthly accounting reports and reports requested by the pastor or the parish finance council.
- Manage all banking activities including the accounting and banking of Sunday collections payables and receivables. Ensure timely payments and deposits.
- Manage and prepare all accounting budgetary fiscal and statistical records with particular attention to annual reports to the Diocese of Lansing and the parish along with monthly reports to the parish staff and parish finance council.
- Prepare and administer all payroll functions.
- Serve with the pastor as the staff liaison to the parish finance council and periodically report on the condition of the parishs physical assets along with the administrative status of the parish.
- Ensure the filing of all required federal state and diocesan reports.
- Monitor and oversee budgetary compliance for all departments.
- Research and monitor service contracts suppliers and vendors for fair pricing and competitive bidding.
C. Facilities - Oversee the management of parish facilities (scheduling collecting rentals maintaining insurance coverage etc.).
- Oversee all aspects in the care maintenance and replacement of all parish buildings and equipment including the securing of bids the negotiating of contracts and the purchasing of supplies and equipment.
- Make assessments as to needed capital repairs to place them in their relative priorities for accomplishments and to make pertinent recommendations to the pastor and the parish finance council.
- Supervise all arrangements and contracts with outside contractors.

- Be a team player who is approachable affable and winsome.
- Be proficient in Google Office Suite functions.
- Pass a background check and attend local training for the protection of children and youth.
- Employees are expected to work onsite and offsite when needed. Some weekend and evening work will be required.
- Physical demands include walking standing sitting stooping and occasionally lifting boxes or bags that weigh up to 40 pounds.
