Summary Responsible for the oversight and management of a Group homes where adults with Autism and developmental/intellectual disabilities reside. Schedule:Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm Essential Job Functions - Recruit hire train assign direct counsel discipline and evaluate the performance of the staff.
- Responsible for the planning and implementation of a daily residential schedule ensuring the program meets Individuals needs and allows for their maximum involvement.
- Responsible for staff schedules ensuring home(s) are operating per required ratios and are within budget.
- Meets with direct support staff individually each month to support and train them in how to perform their essential job duties and responsibilities.
- Ensures the human rights of individuals are safeguarded in all interventions. Responsible for instructing staff on appropriate responses to Individual behavior.
- Initiates investigatory meetings before generating employee notices/disciplinary statements.
- Maintains positive and regular communication with the Individuals family members who have self-identified as interested in maintaining an active role in their disabled Individuals life.
- Ensures the medical services and records meet the needs of the Individuals and conform to regulations.
- Prepares site(s) and Individual records for DDS licensing and to meet the standards of quality.
- Acquires necessary equipment supplies food and furnishings through established channels.
- Monitors the health safety and well-being of Individuals reports issues to appropriate persons and handles emergencies according to agency and Red Cross guidelines.
- Monitors program vehicles condition and ensures safe operation of the vehicle by training staff in how to operate the program vehicle safely and follow safe driving practices.
- Ensures each Individuals ISP is completed in a timely manner and includes all required documentation.
Experience & Education - Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline preferred.
- 3 years of experience in direct support working with persons who have developmental disabilities.
- Experience with individuals with Autism
- 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Previous experience managing/working in a unionized workplace is highly desirable.
