Job Description

Echo Global Logistics is a leading provider of technology-enabled transportation management services. As a third-party logistics provider we simplify transportation management for our clients and carriers handling crucial tasks so they can focus on what they do best. As an MT Operations Manager your responsibilities will include:

Operations:

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics transportation and customer service for Enterprise clients.
  • Build relationships with Clients through constant contact and advocacy by offering advice solutions and proactive issue management.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives with clients.
  • Monitor improve and report upon key performance indicators including financial performance of accounts and team productivity.
  • Conduct market research to proactively communicate industry trends that will impact a clients business.

Management:

  • Identify and develop talent through coaching mentoring and performance management
  • Provide operational excellence by training developing and managing your team on a daily basis.
  • Coach team members to grow and succeed in their roles.

The Operations Manager position is well-suited for you if you are:

  • A Planner: Communicating with client on higher level goals/initiatives to help service their business needs.
  • A Problem Solver: Creatively problem solve day to day.
  • A Motivator: Being able to celebrate big wins for team/clients when it comes to operations.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelors degree or similar work experience
  • 3-5 years experience in the logistics industry
  • Experience leading a team of logistics specialists
  • Excellent analytical problem solving and organizational skills
  • The ability to become trusted advisor of the client
  • A proven track record of continuous process improvement for clients

Work environment/physical demands summary:

This job operates in an office environment and uses a computer telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office with an open seating floor plan. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day. The employee is regularly required to sit talk or hear.
