Job Description

  • Case managementassessmentsupport of kinship carers
  • Support kinship carers to consistently meet the needs of children in their care
  • A role you can make your ownflexibility to work across kinship care

Kinship placements in out-of-home care serve as the primary and preferred option when a young person cannot reside with their parents. This field is experiencing rapid growth making it an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

Your role:

  • A rounded approach engaging schools families and carers in support and case management.
  • Have a passion for working with children and young people impacted by trauma who reside in out of home care.
  • Have creative thinking and problem-solving skills to engage those who might be resistant to supports.
  • Committed to achieving positive outcomes for carers young people and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with their team and team leader.
  • Continuously liaise with DFFH Child Protection.

The skills we want you to use day to day:

  • The agility and skill to engage with complex individuals
  • Using creative thinking and skill to engage carers families and children
  • A good knowledge of and a trauma informed approach
  • Strong administrative skills and ability to meet timelines
  • Sophisticated understanding of the legislative policy and practice environment of Out of Home Care and a passion for learning.
  • Strong engagement communication advocacy and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong written communication
  • Strong networking and stakeholder engagement to promote the Best Interests of children
  • Demonstrated experience in case management.

What you need to know:

  • A salary at starting at SCHCADS level 5 which equates to around $100776 plus super at 12%.
  • Flexible through the increments dependent upon experience.
  • Permanent full time.
