JOB TITLE: Preschool Teacher/Child Care Provider
REPORTS TO: Director/Assistant Director DEPARTMENT: Early Childhood
EXEMPT: VICE PRESIDENT: Marvin Moak
GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. The candidate should be at least 18 years of age and experienced in working with children. A basic love for children and a commitment to teaching are essential.
The candidate MUST pass a criminal history and child abuse background check.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
It is desirable that possible candidates have a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or the appropriate field
A minimum qualification would be Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and at least two years of experience as a teachers aide or other related work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The teacher/provider will be responsible to the director.
Directly supervises campus Police Department staff support staff employees in the Office of Emergency Management and volunteers with the CERT program. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hand to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand walk sit taste and smell.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and the employee is occasionally required to perform job responsibilities in the outdoors and off-site.
