About The Mint Museum

The Mint Museum established as North Carolinas first art museum in 1936 has grown to encompass two dynamic facilities: Mint Museum Uptown and Mint Museum Randolph. We are committed to engaging and inspiring all members of our global community through our renowned collections exhibitions educational programs and scholarship.

Internship Program Overview:

The Mint Museums Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students a valuable opportunity to gain insight into the daily operations of a museum. Interns will work closely with museum professionals across various departments contributing to meaningful projects that align with their academic and career interests.

Available Internship Departments:

Internship Requirements:

  • Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in your major.

  • Demonstrate a strong interest in the visual arts and a desire to work in the museum field.

  • Be available to commit 15 hours per week during the 10-week semester.

  • Submit a completed Internship Application along with a resume and cover letter.

  • Provide one letter of recommendation from a college professor or employer emailed directly to

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Majors in arts-related fields such as Art History Art Education Studio Art Arts Administration Museum Studies Library Studies or English.

  • Majors in fields relevant to museum operations including History Business Administration Marketing Finance Communications Media Relations Public Relations Graphic Design Digital Media and Nonprofit Management.

Additional Information:

  • Interns will receive a stipend for their work monthly.

  • Positions requiring direct contact with children will necessitate a background check.
