Summary
The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Program Specialist II. In this role you will provide critical support to clinical research and educational missions within the theriogenology services across multiple species. This includes technical laboratory duties reproductive sample management equipment maintenance and administrative support all while contributing to ISUs teaching hospital environment.
1. Thermogenicology Cryolaboratory Technical Duties
Collaborate with small (canine feline) and large (equine food animal camelid) animal reproduction services
Collect process evaluate and document semen and embryo samples.
Prepare freeze and inventory semen and embryos; follow strict qualitycontrol protocols.
Assist with animal restraint and clinical/reproductive procedures including ultrasounds surgical prep and artificial insemination.
Maintain and organize sterile efficient lab and clinical spaces.
Support daily case planning through communication with clinicians residents and students.
Foster an educational climatementor veterinary students and technicians in procedural and laboratory techniques.
2. Inventory and Equipment Management
Operate clean calibrate and service specialized reproductive equipment (e.g. cryopreservation systems microscopes ultrasounds semen analyzers).
Manage procurement: generate purchase orders monitor supply usage and reorder as needed.
Uphold hospital biosecurity measuresclean and disinfect according to ISU protocols.
Document equipment maintenance troubleshoot failures and coordinate repairs.
3. Administrative Duties
Monitor clinical schedules and advise ISU reception/front desk on flow and priorities.
Assist in maintaining electronic patient records ensuring documentation completeness.
Communicate professionally with clients about reproductive goals care recommendations and procedures.
Record hospital charges accurately supporting billing and record-keeping.

Leads or coordinates project planning resourcing and staffing for assigned program.
Monitors and manages budget and ensures that the program meets the overall objectives of the university.
Develops public relations initiatives workshops seminars surveys or other activities to promote the program and carry out its objectives.
Acts as a representative of the program.
Participates in project management.
May secure external funding as needed.
