Job Title: Lab Technician
Type: FT Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Lab Technician is responsible for VMRD product manufacturing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follows all policies protocols and SOPs
- Prepares lab reagents
- Packages and labels product
- Produces ELISA kits - plate coating optimization
- Performs cell culture virus culture bacterial culture culture of microorganisms
- Performs protein purification - Salt precipitation ion exchange chromatography size restriction affinity matrix etc.
- Performs protein evaluation - BCA quantitation spectrophotometric analysis
- Performs protein conjugation - FITC HRP
- Performs compounding - making buffers sterile filtration making dilutions making pools making aliquots
- Runs and interprets assays - IFA AGID ELISA RID
- Performs in-process quality control and monitoring
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of work performed
- Calibrates operates and maintains equipment
- Develops and updates SOPs as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications and Experiences:
- Experience working in a laboratory environment
Education Licenses and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- BS candidate in microbiology biology or related field preferred
Physical Requirements for the Job:
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Pay Range Data:
- We anticipate filling this position of Lab Associate at an hourly rate between $20.00 and $24.00 per hour. Our pay ranges are determined by job responsibility and regional benchmarks. We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience training knowledge and skills. The range listed is just one component of VMRDs total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include bonuses.
