Job Title: Logistics Manager
Location:Belfast Northern Ireland
Thales is seeking a dedicated and experienced Logistics Manager to join our team in Belfast.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing our logistics operations and supply chain efficiency ensuring that we meet the high standards set for our defense aerospace and security solutions.
As part of a leading global technology company you will leverage your expertise to streamline processes and support our mission of delivering innovative products to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute logistics strategies that align with Thaless operational goals and enhance supply chain performance.
- Appoint Logistics Team Leaders
- Manage end-to-end logistics operations including transportation warehousing inventory management and distribution tailored to Thaless specific work cells
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement production and quality assurance to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery of products.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics identifying trends and implementing process improvements to drive efficiency.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and Thaless standards for safety quality and ethical operations.
- Lead mentor and develop the logistics team fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement aligned with Thaless values.
- Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with logistics service providers ensuring service excellence and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement advanced technology solutions for logistics management in line with Thaless commitment to innovation.
- Support the companys sustainability initiatives by optimizing logistics operations to decrease environmental impact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field.
- Significant experience in logistics management ideally within the defense aerospace or technology sectors.
- Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills tailoured to complex logistics challenges.
- Proficiency in logistics software and technology tools with a willingness to adopt new systems.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proven leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and motivation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in international logistics and knowledge of import/export regulations related to defence or aerospace industries.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
