The Role:
We have a permanent position based at our Ballarat site (SEM Fire & Rescue) for a motivated and talented Project Manager to join our Specialised Vehicles team. This is a unique opportunity where you will:
- Responsible to Project Manage SEM vehicle build projects from commencement to finalisation ensuring all projects are delivered in-line to Customer Contract Delivery Schedule Quality & to Budget.
- Responsible to deliver customer projects in-line to customer contracts.
- Responsible for organising all project stakeholders (Customer/Estimating/Engineering/Procurement/Production/QA) involved in the project to deliver the projects to high quality on-time to budget costs (labour & materials) and customers contracts.
- Responsible for organising managing weekly internal project meetings and weekly customer meetings.
- Responsible for managing and reporting on projects progress to internal stakeholders and Varley senior management.
- Develop and maintain project schedules based on project scope of work and key milestones of sufficient detail to effectively monitor project performance.
- Responsible for organising managing controlling project management reporting tools to report on projects progress project progress costs against budget highlighting risks and working with all stakeholders to deliver projects to high quality on-time to budget and customers contracts.
- Plan coordinate monitor coach and review the work performance of project team members.
- Assist with preparation of acceptance test plan procedures and reports.
- Assist production and engineering with resource planning and control.
- Assist production to produce accurate and detailed line books (Bill Of Operations) required to drive Production productivity
To be considered for this role you will:
- Proven ability to provide innovative practical and cost effective solutions for manufacture Tertiary Qualifications Engineering and/or Project Management
- Strong experience with Australian and International Engineering/Project Management
- Demonstrated experience in planning scheduling cost control and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement negotiation skills and effective communication both written and verbal with suppliers subcontractors and customers.
- Thrive on solving problems and creating innovative solutions
- Enjoy a fast pace where thinking on your feet and managing multiple projects energises you
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills.
- Proficient in the Microsoft suite of products in particular Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint
- Previous practical experience within construction or manufacturing related industry will be highly regarded.
- Have a positive can do attitude
