Grocery Department Manager
Job Description

The Grocery Manager is responsible for ordering receiving stocking merchandising and management of the Grocery department. As a manager the Grocery Manager is also responsible for the smooth operation of the store ensuring employee accountability and up/down communication with the Store Manager.
This position reports directly to the Store Manager with oversight from the Grocery Category Manager. This is a full-time position not to exceed 40 hours each week.
Requirements
o Experience with Microsoft Office including Word Excel and Outlook.
o 1 years experience in retail management.
o 2 years experience in customer service

o Ability to work a flexible work schedule including nights weekends and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
o Order and receive for the Grocery department.
o Manage a team as they stock Grocery deliveries in a timely manner.
o Drive sales through well-merchandised displays and increase the profitability of the Grocery department.
o Ensure backstock is worked consistently and accurately.
o Manage top and bottom sellers to ensure product sets stay profitable.
o Ensure department stays profitable through the use of department ledgers as a means of maintaining costs.
o Utilize feedback provided by Management and the Category Coordinator to make changes to the sets to drive sales.
o Manage a team of cashiers and stockers as they complete tasks for the Grocery department and the store in general. Provide training on completing tasks to staff as well as following up to ensure compliance.
o Ensure the Grocery department inventory is being managed and maintained through regular audits.
o Regularly complete cleaning on the Grocery department to ensure shelves and displays are clean and inviting at all times.
o Ensure staff are working in a safe and productive manner at all times.
o Ensure there is no expired product in the Grocery department through regular audits of expiring items.
o Attend weekly Grocery department meetings as well as monthly meetings with the Store Manager.
o Complete audits on the Grocery department to ensure operational compliance and efficiency.
This list of job responsibilities is considered a general outline of the position. This position is expected to do whatever it takes to get the job done to ensure the successful operation of the store and of Rainbow Blossom.
This position will be required to lift up to 20 pounds often and 50 pounds rarely. This position will often be indoors in a climate-controlled environment with occasional outdoor exposure which could consist of hot and cold temperatures as well as potential exposure to wind and precipitation. This position will be expected to work occasionally in a cooler and freezer. This position will be expected to stand and walk often to sit and squat or kneel occasionally and to climb rarely.
