Job Description

This position is a grade 108 on the salary schedule. The new hire placement range is $17.27 to $19.74 per hour.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position will assist in performing a variety of tasks associated with preventive maintenance of buildings grounds and District property.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs preventive maintenance on district buildings and equipment.
  • Able to properly work with a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Assists other maintenance staff in completing preventive maintenance assignments.
  • Works in indoor attic basement and outdoor areas.
  • Works with craftsmen as assigned.
  • Able to complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITIES:

  • Skill in maintenancee repair work tasks and equipment use.
  • Knowledge of operating a variety of maintenance tools along with methods of general maintenance repair work procedures.
  • Skill in communication interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers supervisor the general public etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
  • Working knowledge of basic operations tools and methods used in building maintenance.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • General facility maintenance ability.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with others is essential.
  • Must have a valid Arizona operators license.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to accurately perform assigned tasks.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and School Board Policies.
  • Ability to promote harmonious working relationships with staff and outside business representatives.
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stooping reaching standing walking lifting pulling pushing manual handling grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time the job is rated for Medium Work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
