Job Description
Our client is a well-established global energy and commodities trading house based in the US. Weve been approached by the Head of Development to source a London-based Risk Lead. Although the company is now 4000 strong after a recent merger the company ethos in the development team is still very much that of a start-up/scale-up. The structure is agile and flat and there is a culture of going the extra miles to achieve goals. So the successful candidate will either be from an SME background or else be sat in a large corporate and wishing they were at an SME!
Were after someone who is comfortable with Python code (or C/.NET and get to grips with Python quickly). While coding isnt part of the day-to-day duties everyone up to the CTO prides themselves in being able to see issues and offer solutions when required so youll be hands-on with code at all times. What you will be doing is owning the code (used to architect and develop the trading platforms and managing the international team of developers and senior developers (who are based in North America Europe and Asia).
Coming from a Commodities (ideally) or Equities background youll need to understand how Options work pricing and how do get P&L from trading deals. Above all youll need to be the type of leader who has passion for their work and gets the same thrill from achieving goals and overcoming problems as they would from scoring a goal taking a wicket or winning a sprint race!
In return my client is offering a great package with a base salary of around 155k health insurance and pension plan. Currently offered on a 3 days onsite hybrid this is shortly to change to 4 days/week onsite
