Description
The role of aRespite Nurse is to offer one-on-one time between a child and licensed nurse within the familys home or community. Respite care is designed to give families a break from the day-to-day care involved in raising a child with special healthcare needs. ChildServes respite service allows parents to attend events for their other children schedule appointments for themselves or simply take time to recharge.

Schedule
Primarily afternoons evenings and weekends. Can be regularly scheduled or as needed.
What Youll Do
- Provide one-on-one nursing support in the home or community
- Interact with the child and participate in fun activities
- Complete electronic documentation and paper MARS
- Possible skills used: medication administration g-tube nutrition seizure management trach cares etc.
What Youll Need
- Graduate of accredited nursing program
- Current valid RN/LPN license in Iowa
- Documentation of CPR/BLS certification
- Valid drivers license with two or fewer violations in the past three years
- Experience working with children with special health care needs preferred
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs be mobile within the assigned work area and frequently bend lift reach and stand
- Ability to communicate effectively in (or through) reading writing and speaking the English language
