The Senior Cost Accountant & Financial Analyst drivesfinancialaccuracy within the supply chain domain and provides strategic analyticalsupport for costof salesandinventory improvement efforts. This individual is responsible forcost accountingfinancial planning financial-related inventory management activities and reporting forprocurement andsupply chain. RESPONSIBILITIES: Cost Accounting - Owns all cost accounting related activities including proper buildup of capitalized costs inventory valuation inventory existence and detailed calculations for inventory reserves allocations and related areas within the supply chain domain
- Prepares schedules and supports external audits quarterly reviews and tax returns
- Develops and updates key accounting and financial policies including internal controls
- Owns specific activities during the month/quarter-end close and financial reporting processes; ensure assigned transactions have been recorded accounts reconciled and completes reports in a timely manner
- Analyzes monthly and quarterly results against prior period operating plan and forecast
- Analyzes and reports periodic key metrics related to month-end close and financial operations including major drivers for COGS and inventory variances
- Compiles and presents month-end results to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders
- Maintains a detailed analytical framework of product costing at the BOM level to support executive contribution margin (by procedure type) and total gross margin variance analysis
- Analyzes cost allocation models and all cost components such as freight warehouse labor and indirect cost components
- Owns COGS and inventory module in the financial system drives system improvements and integrates to the MRP system
- Supports Operations team as the financial subject matter expert on the day-to-day cost accounting function
- Collaborates with supply chain to monitor consigned inventory held at contract manufacturers including periodic reconciliations and cycle counts
Supply Chain Analyst - Collaborates with the Operations team on annual operating plans and forecasts for accurate product costing at a detailed BOM level indirect cost components such as warehouse cost scrap cycle count losses allocations and inventory procurement
- Partners with the supply chain team to understand the short and long term cost and efficiency levers in order to plan improvements in the financial plans
- Engages in cross functional partnership to maintain process flow charts and support continuous improvement of supply chain processes such as vendor management inventory and vendor yield tracking
- Plays a key role in supporting long-term gross margin analysis and improvement initiatives
- Participate in and/or lead projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum 6 years of increasing accounting and financial planning responsibility in supply chain/ manufacturing organizations with fundamental knowledge of cost accounting concepts supply chain inventory flow and operational processes
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or CPA a plus
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes costed BOMs (Bill of Materials) cost structures and methodologies (e.g. standard costing)
- Experience setting up Master Records and Standard costing
- Excellent analytical and modeling skills
- Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
- Experience with larger ERP MRP and financial planning systems; NetSuite and Adaptive experience preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to liaison between the supply chain accounting and FP&A functions ensuring seamless communication and collaboration
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to interact communicate & influence effectively with business partners
- Medical device experience a plus
- Experience with hyper-growth environments preferred
