Job Summary:
The High School Job Coach supports students in developing the skills necessary for successful employment and independent living. This role involves working closely with students educators and employers to provide job readiness training on-site job coaching and career exploration opportunities. The Job Coach plays a key role in helping studentsparticularly those with IEPs or 504 planstransition from school to the workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and group instruction on job readiness skills (e.g. resume writing interview techniques workplace etiquette).
Accompany students to job sites and provide on-the-job coaching and support.
Collaborate with teachers counselors and transition specialists to align job coaching with students educational goals.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and school staff.
Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and community organizations to secure job placements and internships.
Assist in developing transition plans and documentation for students with special needs.
Support students in learning time management communication and problem-solving skills in workplace settings.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and job site evaluations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree in education counseling social work or a related field preferred.
- Substitute teaching license or Professional Educators License
Experience working with high school students especially those with disabilities or special needs.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
