Were looking for a Design & Verification Engineer to join the Mechanical Design Team at Snap Inc!
What youll do:
As part of the Mechanical Design team you will work directly with engineers suppliers and CMs to ensure components and sub-assemblies are designed & manufactured to specification.
Design components assemblies jigs and fixtures relating to optical engines used in AR glasses
Own the relationship between design teams suppliers and CMs to ensure they have the capability and processes to meet part & assembly technical specifications. This will include international travel to Suppliers & CMs sites included in Snaps global supply chain in Europe and Asia.
Work closely with other Spectacles teams to gather relevant information and share your knowledge about the parts & assemblies to further improve requirements and specifications providing vital feedback from the suppliers and CMs
Bridge the gap between Mechanical Design Global Supply Chain and Quality to ensure parts can be manufactured measured and delivered to Snaps specifications and requirements.
Work directly with suppliers and our CMs to assess monitor and improve Measurement SOPs Manufacturing SOPs and general engineering competencies
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
CAD experience ideally SolidWorks or NX ideally on consumer electronics or opto-mechanical products or assemblies
Considerable expertise in Metrology (using CMMs) metrology process improvement and the technical requirements of measurements systems.
An expert in ASME & ISO drawings GD&T FAI & SPC dimensioning and process control
Appreciation of consumer goods component manufacturing methods such as injection molding machining including optical components for high volume manufacturing
Experience producing and manipulating measurement data sets and presenting to peers and management
Strong background in Mechanical engineering
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree in relevant engineering or scientific subject
5 years of Mechanical Design experience in a relevant industry
Qualification and/or significant experience in dimensional Metrology / Six Sigma / Process improvement
Preferred Qualifications/experience:
Recognised Metrology Certification / Qualification / CMM Programming
Six Sigma certification
We offer a competitive salary range 70000 - 88000 which is commensurate with your qualifications and experience and the level of this role. You will also be eligible to participate in our highly competitive equity program in the form of RSUs. Our compensation philosophy is designed to attract and retain top talent in the industry.
