The Neuro Critical Care Unit is a 14 bed Intensive care in the Meijer Heart Center at Butterworth hospital. The Neuro ICU is part of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at the Medical Center and it is West Michigans largest stroke center. We specialize in the care of patients with stroke or other neurological conditions. These conditions include Hemorrhagic stroke Ischemic stroke seizures and Hydrocephalus with critical care needs. Our nurses are part of a collaborative team and work alongside our nurse techs intensivists APPs pharmacists therapists social workers chaplains and secretaries to provide specialized care to everyone. This team has worked to develop a culture of collaboration kindness teamwork and learning.

Scope of work
Responsibilities include taking vitals checking blood sugars bed bathing ambulating wound care catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient within our clinics alongside RNs/Providers. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological psychological sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
Soonest available orientation for this ICU unit will begin August 11th or September 8th and require 3 training shifts per week (Mon-Thurs along with rotating weekends) for 11 weeks total.
