Job Description
Essential Functions
Grinds metal objects such as castings billets machine parts and sheet metal subassemblies to smooth or rough-finish objects to specifications
Removes excess metal scratches or burs by feeding metal pieces against rotating grinding wheel
Examines and measures work piece for conformance to standards
Selects and mounts abrasive wheels of different grit size to grinder to obtain specified finish on work piece

Basic Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be willing to learn
Mechanical aptitude
Blueprint reading ability required
Precision measuring tools required
Dependable honest quick learner effective communication skills and team player
Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days shift and weekends to ensure that the customer demand is met
Competencies
Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
Possess basic mathematical skills: addition subtraction multiplication and division
Prior experience grinding equipment machines and products required
Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties
Work Environment
Employee may be regularly exposed to moving equipment mechanical parts in motion risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes welding machining painting etc.
Physical Demands
May involve some repetitive motions
May be required to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
May also engage in frequent bending stooping squatting pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
Do to the open environment of the warehouse must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat humidity and cold
