Job Description:
KEY Accountabilities:
Program Coordination and Delivery 65%
- Develop outsource implement and evaluate daily pro-social activities lesson plans group sessions book studies and more in topics such as mental wellness addictions recovery and rehabilitation life and living skills sessions in house and in the community utilizing best practice evidence based models including the accompaniment of clients in the community to activities and events and local travel to events
- Implement existing courses and programming build community relationships and discounted access to services coordinate with community partners in service access and delivery
- Supervise all mental health addictions fine arts and life & living skills programming for Illuminate program clients reporting to the Manager Propel Development Center and in collaboration with Manager of Deborahs Gate
- Delegate & coordinate completion of tasks to volunteers as per their job descriptions and provide accountability on an ongoing basis including oversight of lived experience employment placements
- Development of administrative frameworks and best practices for program delivery including new and innovative approaches to digital programming teaching to learning styles & using creative multi-modal approaches
- Utilise knowledge of issues pertaining to ADLs Person-Environment-Occupation Model occupational therapy human trafficking & exploitation rehabilitation immigration de-colonizing praxis fine arts lived experience inclusion domestic violence/abuse mental health addictions homelessness employment education racial justice & equity financial inclusion and internal policies and procedures to develop program materials and partnerships
- Ongoing maintenance of resources facility library and message boards as well as maintain physical resources including cell phones vehicles and program equipment
- Assess client suitability to internal and external programs and agencies as required
- Ensure the use of the Case Management System as it relates to development activities and education including case notes activity reports therapeutic approaches & intervention
- Participate in orientating training scheduling and evaluating volunteers and practicum students for programming
- Ensure that program procedures are maintained develop learning guides and facilitator materials where required
Outreach 20%
- Provide programming and support at external program sites working collaboratively with staff and clients to meet their programming needs
- Provide accompaniment by vehicle ferry plane or public forms of transit for program participants where required for programming supply purchasing attending events
- Complete ongoing facilitation training related to staff training programming and therapeutic approaches as required provide training to other team members withing Illuminate and Belkin Communities of Hope
- Conduct survivor talkback sessions & councils to support program participant input integration into programming activities
- Ascertain and provide participants with referral services within the community and / or social services resources where relevant
- Assist Management team in seeking donations and establishing meaningful connections with community partners support and participate in stakeholder evaluations and focus groups attend offsite meetings with stakeholders as required
Other Duties 15%
- Participate in training meetings case management development administrative system orientations as required
- Complete complex reporting statistical evaluation and work within program budget reporting to Manager on outcomes & funder requirements attend funding related events & share program outcomes.
- Keep track provide statistical and evaluative information to management on a monthly basis.
- Monitor and ensure office safety practices in compliance with health and safety standards complete incident report investigations & develop program related policy & follow violence & risk assessment guidelines.
- Ensure client supervision and safety in designated programs and comply with relevant program Policies and Procedures.
- May provide back-up support to and or assume functions in other program areas as needed and perform other duties as assigned

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Reports directly to: Manager of Propel Survivor Development Center
Direct reports for this position: This position has no direct reports but may be expected to provide guidance coordination support and delegation to coworkers volunteers practicum students or community partners.
FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT:
- Regular responsibility for minor financial matters and wise use of own resources.
- Minor material responsibility (access to personal and confidential information).
- Uses or maintains organization assets including vehicle computer cell phone and office equipment in accordance with established guidelines.
Working Conditions:
- Responsibilities will involve working from a designated workstation but will also involve movement through the residential areas and general building.
- Direct program activities may require a moderate level of physical ability - walking standing lifting up to 20 pounds to effectively carry out the duties of the position.
- Responsibilities will also include accompaniment of clients traveling by public transportation or walking in various weather conditions.
- The employee may at times be subject to hazardous or disagreeable conditions in the performance of their duties.
- Working conditions may include:
- Exposure to drugs and alcohol
- Noiseand odours
- Dealing with angry and abusive people
- Verbal Abuse
- Exposure to bodily fluids and bodily waste

education and experience Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal post-secondary/college program of two academic years in Social
Service or another related field - Current Certification in First Aid/CPR
- Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or MANDT
- Completion of WHMIS training
- Certification in FOODSAFE Level 1 or willingness to be trained
- Mental Health First Aid Certification or willingness to be trained
- Current Naloxone Training or willingness to be trained.
- Valid Class Five BC Drivers License and clear abstract
*Alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
- At least two (2) years of experience working in program facilitation
- At least one (1) year experience working with survivors of exploitation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel PowerPoint) Outlook and Internet Navigation and General Computer Skills
- Strong knowledge of of trauma informed practices in working with marginalized and exploited populations.

Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $22.92 to $28.64 with a maximum of $34.37.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
