Job Description

Job Summary: The RVPs provide leadership and guidance to employees in their region. They establish expectations for Field Staff including cooperator services annual goals and overall FBFM organizational success. They use their experience to offer valuable insights and direction to their Pillar Leads. The RVP will coach Pillar Leads with their Field Staff on relationships with Cooperators analysis and tax work profitability and operations of their respective offices.
The RVP position will have the ability to interact with Cooperators and support others to drive the FBFM Vision and Mission a keen understanding of how to influence and hold people accountable to ensure FBFM value to members and possess excellent communication skills. The individual will join the Leadership Team to drive business initiatives.
Office Locations: To be determined but most likely central Illinois and Indiana.
Responsibilities:
  1. Administrative
    1. Assigns cooperators to field staff.
    2. Assist in connecting staff to resources (spreadsheets field staff expertise etc.)
    3. Oversees the allocation of resources to ensure staff time money is having the greatest possible impact.
    4. Oversees that billing is timely and accurate.
    5. Participates with the Leadership Team with input guidance and support in carrying the strategic direction of FBFM.
    6. Assist in establishing office locations in the region.
  2. Coaching mentoring training
    1. Helps Pillar Lead to guide office staff with PCMars IRS notices and other daily activities.
    2. Provides support to Pillar Leads working with new or struggling staff to help them be successful.
    3. Assists Field Staff to develop business through upselling FBFM services and/or adding new Cooperators.
    4. Coordinates review of analysis/tax returns produced by Field Staff for accuracy and appropriate billing.
    5. Organizes formal group training based on cooperators and FBFMs needs.
    6. Provide help as needed on client projects for other staff in the region and state.
  3. Implementation
    1. Ensure consistent processes policies products (eBook Lacerte) are implemented effectively across the area.
    2. Works with Pillar Leads in providing peer review/quality assessment of Field Staff work.
    3. Initiates efficiencies and ways to improve productivity in office.
    4. Gather feedback to communicate upward (anonymously if necessary) to drive improvement.
    5. Provides input to CEO on increasing cooperator value and staff success.
  4. Communication across regions.
    1. Provide updates regarding FBFM Activities and communicate changes to staff.
    2. Collaborate and share ideas with others across the state.
    3. Provide a consistent communication schedule within the Region.
    4. Attend and participate in Board Meetings providing updates for their region.
  5. Human Resources
    1. Approves hiring support staff candidates and seasonal hires for their offices.
    2. Assists in recruiting and hiring Field Staff in the region in line with the compensation plan.
    3. Coordinates the transitioning of retiring Field Staff.
    4. Reviews with Pillar Leads of the productivity metrics of Field Staff.
    5. Advocate for staff needs (both field staff and support staff).
    6. With support of State Human Resources director assists with conflict resolution.
Reports to: CEO
Supervises: Farm Business Consultants assigned
Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelors degree in accounting agribusiness or other related fields.
  2. Agriculture/Farming background or a working knowledge of farm operations the ag industry and accounting/finance principles.
  3. Three to five years of experience as a Field Staff or leader in their industry.
  4. The ability to travel throughout the region a valid drivers license and reliable transportation are essential.
  5. Strong employee and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. The ability to develop implement and assess performance metrics towards setting and achieving goals.
  2. Advanced knowledge in common office applications and word processing software.
  3. Basic knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  4. Friendly outgoing personality.
  5. Timely organized respectful and trustworthy.
