Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Business (SAADBO) the Athletics Business Analyst (ABA) is independently responsible for administering the financial activities of the assigned teams and/or administrative departments within Sacramento States Division I Intercollegiate Athletics program. The ABA is responsible for making purchasing decisions for assigned teams and/or departments with combined annual budgets from multiple sources such as general funds operating funds camp funds and foundation accounts or any other athletic-related funding sources. The ABA works closely with coaches and/or managers within each assigned team and/or department to plan execute and analyze annual operational and travel budgets from various sources. In addition the ABA ensures the most timely and cost-effective travel and operating purchases are made for the designated areas.
FLSA:Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range:$4598.00 per month. Anticipated hiring rate is at or near the minimum of the classification salary range.
CSU Classification Salary Range:$ 4598.00 per month -$8318.00per month

Work Hours:Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm with the occasional need to work hours outside of these to meet operational needs.

The program of Intercollegiate Athletics is organized and conducted as an integral part of the total educational program of the University. Academic excellence and athletic accomplishments go hand in hand at Sacramento State. There are three separate and unique missions in this program: to contribute to the educational objectives of the University; to provide a healthy competitive athletic experience to individual student-athletes; to serve as a public relations vehicle within the community.
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics offers both academic courses and an intercollegiate athletics program. Academic courses offer the opportunity for individuals to gain knowledge and understanding in a particular area of expertise related to intercollegiate athletics.

Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles practices and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelors degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study analysis and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies procedures practices or programs.
