General Summary:
The Director of Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing the global reporting processes preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and ensuring the integrity of corporate audits. This role involves managing technical accounting guidance supervising 1-2 employees maintaining the consolidation system (Planful) and streamlining processes to enhance efficiency. The candidate must have experience in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and possess excellent technical accounting skills. The position will be responsible for providing executive leadership and management of the companys financial functions.
The position will also involve managing special projects and supporting the integration of new processes or businesses into the corporate structure.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the global reporting process on a monthly basis ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
Coordinate and manage corporate audit items acting as the main point of contact for external auditors.
Provide technical accounting guidance and ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
Directly manage and support 1-2 accountants fostering their professional growth and development.
Execute topside global entries as required for accurate reporting and consolidation.
Maintain and update the consolidation system Planful to ensure it meets the companys evolving needs.
Oversee the intercompany transactions process working with various entities to reconcile accounts.
Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by employees ensuring adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
Lead process improvements for tasks performed by the accounting team increasing efficiency and accuracy.
Manage and coordinate special projects including business integrations from an accounting perspective.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Travel:
If the job requires overnight travel what percentage of time is spent away from home base 5-10%
Essential Job Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required. Masters degree preferred.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting with at least 3 years in a managerial role within a corporate accounting team.
Strong understanding of IFRS and other financial reporting regulations.
Demonstrated experience with financial statement preparation and consolidation.
Proficient in using financial systems with specific experience in Planful strongly preferred.
Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills capable of working collaboratively across various departments and with external partners.
