Job Description

Please note that this position is based in Princeton NJ or San Diego CA. Acadias hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

A Senior Manager of Interactive Response Technology (IRT) is responsible for overseeing the development implementation maintenance and change management of IRT systems used in clinical trials and other research settings.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee end-to-end project management for IRT systems including gathering user requirements executing user acceptance testing (UAT) and managing project timelines
  • Vendor Management: Establish clear expectations for vendors communicate performance issues and identify opportunities to leverage vendor capabilities for future efficiencies. Solicit feedback from team members to assess vendor performance
  • Act as IRT representative in cross functional study and Project teams
  • Provide additional support on related systems for example EDC. ePRO eCRF in support of ongoing and future Clinical Programs
  • Leverage learnings and ongoing strategy to support future development and innovation
  • Process Coordination: Collaborate with CTM Biostats Safety and Clinical Operations to define functional responsibilities; Optimize processes dependent on IRT solutions by advocating for new technologies tools and standards
  • System Maintenance: Ensure the smooth operation of IRT systems by collaborating with IRT vendors internal Acadia functions to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Project Leadership: Act as the IRT Subject Matter Expert for project teams. Ensure team members have an adequate understanding of IRT processes and dependencies for their respective functions. Develop effective communication plans are developed that define responsibilities and points of escalation between IRT vendors sites CROs and internal stakeholders
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with GXP requirements and industry practices by developing/revising Standard Operating Procedures and standards related to the development maintenance and closure of IRT systems
  • Procurement: Review/approve vendor proposals and ensure timely review/approval of vendor invoices. Communicate IRT costs for inclusion in the study budget

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelors in Information Technology Project Management or related field. MS a plus. A minimum of 8 years experience directly supporting IRT systems required. An equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered.
  • Working knowledge of IRT industry leaders trends and vendor platforms is beneficial.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of IRT systems clinical trial processes system change management and GXP regulations related to validated systems.
  • Vendor Management: Excellent ability to negotiate with vendors. Expert ability developing relationships and trust with vendors. Ability to motivate vendors provide positive/negative feedback while holding them accountable for performance.
  • Project Management: Proven experience delivering exceptional results by managing timelines resources and limiting risk. Expert in planning execution and oversight at a project level.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to lead cross functional teams. Must be able to influence and collaborate with cross functional stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Can develop creative approaches/solutions
  • Communication: Proficient ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and document management skills.
  • Ability to manage change in a dynamic environment.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify opportunities for efficiency and minimize risk by developing contingency plans related to the IRT design.
  • Demonstrate proficiency at effectively prioritizing goals assessing team capability and coordinating resources to achieve those goals.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time both domestically and internationally.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch see talk or hear in a standard office environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Be able to travel to distant locations. Ability to travel by car or airplane independently up to 10% of the time and work after hours if required by travel schedule or business issues.
