Job Description

Hoosac Valley Regional School District is seeking a High School Special Education teacher for the next school year. The Lead teacher will service various grade levels through specially designed instruction and support to access the curriculum. Responsibilities: *Design and implement an effective classroom learning environment *Set and maintain behavioral expectations appropriate to the class and school environment *Oversee all classroom and related activities to ensure the health safety and general well-being of all participants *Develop and implement Individualized education plans *Schedule IEP team meetings for all students on caseload *Prepare daily written lessons plans for class coordinated with the students IEP goals and objectives *Collect data and use it to inform instructional practices *Write progress reports *Monitor and revise IEPs to ensure full educational benefits *Supervise and provide direct instruction to paraprofessionals and other staff to ensure maximum utilization of their time and skills *Attend and participate in school meetings *Communicate with parents/guardians of students in a timely manner *Coordinate with specialists (PT OT Speech BCBA SAC) to facilitate therapeutic strategies across content areas *Participate in the evaluation of students *Attend all required professional development
