Job Summary:
Insight Imaging is searching for a reliable MRI Technologist Assistant to work in our imaging clinic. The perfect candidates must have the ability to work in a very fast paced environment while providing excellent customer service and patient care at all times. We are looking for a team member who is committed to running a smooth and efficient schedule for physicians which will allow for an enjoyable environment and experience for our patients. The personal qualities that we insist upon and feel are the most heavily weighed include but are not limited to being trustworthy flexible patient organized able to multitask and most importantly to be kind and considerate to patients guest and co-workers. These positions will offer room for personal and professional growth along with a great opportunity to work with excellent Physicians MRI technicians administrators and co-workers.

Duties:
  • Greets all patients visitors family members physicians and Associates in a courteous and professional manner. Addresses customers needs efficiently effectively and confidentially.
  • Transports patients safely and effectively by wheelchair or stretcher using side rails safety straps and locks as appropriate. Exercises caution with regards to oxygen tanks and other medical devices.
  • Observes/monitors patients for comfort safety and mental and physical status while transporting and while in the exam room. Alerts technologist physician or supervisor of patient problems or concerns.
  • Recognizes equipment or patient problems and brings to the attention of technologist physician or supervisor as appropriate.
  • Prepares procedure rooms for examinations or procedures by obtaining required instruments supplies and equipment and assisting in the creation and maintenance of a safe and orderly environment. Keeps non-compatible equipment/devices out of the scanner room (MRI). Cleans exam rooms and equipment after procedures to prepare for the next patient.
  • Prepares patients for procedures per department standards and protocols ensuring adherence to proper identification checks. Assists during procedures as requested and performs technical and limited patient care activities under the direction of a technologist nurse physician extender or physician.
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials by reporting inventory depletion and restocking to ensure their continued availability and non-interruption of services.
  • Adheres to departmental policies procedures standards and protocols to ensure effective departmental operations and quality patient care. Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge and understanding of modality services/activities.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients personnel and visitors by requiring and supporting the establishment maintenance and education of an effective safety management program. Adheres to safety practices for staff patients and self.
  • Remains proficient in the use of Radiology/Information Management systems as needed.
  • Participates in Performance improvement activities.
  • Performs other functions as directed to assist and support the Technologist.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Contact involves dealing with sick people.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Previous experience in a patient care setting is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • May be expected to lift up to 25 pounds or up to 50 pounds with assistance. May be expected to push or pull 100-150 pounds with assistance.
  • Work is of medium demand; walking or standing most of the time while on duty.
  • Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required.
  • Optimal auditory acuity required
  • Able to look at a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Manual dexterity involving the handling of equipment and instruments or needles is essential to performing assigned duties.
  • Physical conditions are clean neat and well lit.
  • May be subjected to unpleasant sights and odors stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgement as to precautions needed to be taken is essential.
  • Exposure to limited amounts of radiation hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility
  • Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to the requirements of the daily clinic schedule
