Senior Platform Engineer (Infrastructure API)

Responsibilities

• Development and Implementation of our internal infrastructure platform

• Designing and building APIs to support the internal infrastructure platform used for managing the lifecycle of bare metal hosts

• Improving Reliability Performance and Feature Set of the infrastructure platform based on internal customer needs

• Identifying and diagnosing issues in deployments together with software development teams

Requirements

• Demonstrated work with a modern object-oriented programming language preferably Go

• Experience managing bare metal systems on premise or in hybrid environments

• 5 years of experience with Linux systems tooling and troubleshooting

• Proven ability to mentor Junior Members of the team

Skills & Knowledge

• Automated Ubuntu deployments (cloud-init ignition Openstack or similar)

• Ability to support engineers with solving problems in integrating their systems with core Kubernetes components is preferred

• Experience integrating with globally distributed large scale Private and Public Cloud Environments

• Deep understanding of IAC both design and implementation

• Ability to trace and diagnose Linux network stack traffic flows

Additional Attributes

• Strong communication skills

• Experience with Kubernetes development including operators and controllers is a plus

• Experience with collaboration in a distributed team across multiple timezones

• High energy driven to positively impact the business with customer-first thinking

• Must be self starter who understands that ownership means distributing the knowledge of your work so that everyone benefits

• Experience with the Prometheus monitoring ecosystem is a plus

• Being a Contributor to Open Source Software is a plus
