Working with the CBC Kids Discoverability Outreach and Engagement team your job will be to support a small team of producers and associate producers who create and publish content in a variety of ways on third-party platforms including YouTube and Meta. If you love childrens media and crave a working environment where team members are working on a variety of projects at the same time and things can change from week-to-week this position is for you.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic detail-oriented organized and has high proficiency in written and verbal communication. The job involves providing ongoing support to producers including managing team calendars and work platforms booking key personnel managing contracts creating call sheets ordering supplies and communicating with all involved.
This job also involves assisting in the coordination set up and execution of occasional in-person events and our weekly live virtual school program. The successful applicant will occasionally work at events on weekends or later-than-normal on weekdays. They may occasionally have to work at locations other than CBC Toronto. The work also involves facilitating live Zoom calls with classrooms on a weekly basis during the school year.
This position is hybrid with some work being done from home and some being done at CBC.
Key responsibilities:
Production Coordination: Support small production tapings including booking locations crews gear and talent and communicating with all involved including preparing and sending call sheets.
Virtual School Program: Scheduling and facilitating live Zoom calls with classrooms including managing the technical aspects of Zoom managing a scheduling platform and responding to teacher emails as they come.
Live Events: Supporting the CBC Kids Outreach team at occasional in-person events including packing set up working at events and functioning in an audience-facing environment with kids and their parents or other audience groups.
Team administration: Maintaining various tracking spreadsheets and workflows on Google and and looking for ways to improve these established methods on an ongoing basis as new features are added and team needs arise or change.
Audience Relations: Written communication with audiences via email and social media platforms
As required performs the following tasks:
Supporting various aspects of YouTube and Meta packaging and publishing
Copy editing text written by others
Update and maintain and other databases and create new work systems as needed
Order package and ship items for giveaways
Organize and maintain a storage room
Occasionally lift and move boxes and mascot bags
Research and order swag according to established best practices
Schedule a virtual school program and facilitate
Administration of contests and giveaways
Prepare reports as requested
Request contracts as needed
Education Required:
Job requires a university degree or equivalent.
Experience Required:
Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience in Childrens Media Production proven ability as a production coordinator experience in publishing on YouTube Meta and other social media platforms and a strong understanding of the various stages of child development especially preschool and school age audiences.
Previous experience working with children aged 0-12 is an asset.
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
