Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- RHU
Restrictive Housing UnitUnder general supervision will facilitate and assist in conducting inmate showers three (3) times per week along with recreation on a daily basis.
Will conduct both target and random cell searches and inspections as required.
Acts as a member of high-risk cell extractions team.
Escorts inmates displaying assaultive behavior inside the facility yard within RHU.
Responds to other situations as directed which involve an exceptionally high risk or special need and may require tactical planning and action which would enhance the safety of staff and offenders.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- 18 years of age or older
- High school graduate or GED
- Must possess a valid drivers license
- Tattoos: Must not be offensive and/or gang related or visibly located on the face or head. Tattoos on the neck will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Cannot have been convicted of a crime with a maximum allowable sentence of one year or more or a fine of $1000.
- Must pass a physical examination administered by SCDC.
- Must successfully complete the Correctional Officer Basic Certification Course within first (6) six months of placement into the position.
