Vice President Commercial Banking - Iowa City
Job Overview: Our Iowa City banking client is seeking an experienced Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to drive business growth by building and maintaining strong client relationships. In this role youll take a proactive approach to understanding clients businesses their financial performance goals and industry trends. You will represent the Bank with integrity and act as a trusted advisordelivering tailored solutions through loans deposits treasury and wealth management services.
This is a Direct Hire role.
Build and maintain regular contact with clients and prospects to understand their evolving business needs and goals.
Identify and grow a network of centers of influence (e.g. CPAs attorneys and business advisors).
Collaborate across departments to quickly address client needs and resolve issues.
Conduct joint calls with internal partners to deepen and expand client relationships.
Advocate effectively for both the client and the Bank to ensure a balanced and ethical partnership.
Communicate expectations clearly with borrowers and coordinate internally on credit and risk matters.
Drive revenue growth by originating high-quality commercial loans deposit accounts (especially primary and non-interest bearing) and cross-selling services such as Treasury and Wealth Management.
Track all business development activity using CRM tools and reporting systems.
Risk & Credit Management:
Understand and apply the Banks credit policies risk framework and compliance requirements.
Conduct thorough financial analysis and credit underwriting in collaboration with Credit Administration.
Structure and document complex lending transactions with precision and risk-awareness.
Support clients in meeting all financial reporting and compliance obligations.
Assist with risk mitigation and collection strategies as needed.
Bachelors degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial Banking demonstrating strong business development and credit analysis skills.
Proven success structuring and negotiating complex commercial lending arrangements.
Solid understanding of accounting financial statements and loan documentation.
