Job Responsibilities:
The Citadel The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applications for a Campus Support Technician in the Department of Information and Technology Services. This position is a key member of the ITS team responsible for delivering advanced technical support to faculty staff and students across campus.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Tier 3 technical support through The Citadels IT ticketing system.
- Sound and audiovisual (AV) support for classroom instruction and campus events such as graduation guest lectures ceremonies and official functions.
- On-site troubleshooting diagnostics and repair of computer systems peripherals and classroom AV systems.
- Installation configuration and maintenance of Windows and macOS computers printers scanners projectors and related equipment.
- Software installation data transfer and configuration.
- Formal and informal training of faculty staff and students on computing and AV technologies.
- Setup operation and troubleshooting of microphones speakers livestream and video feeds and projection systems for campus events.
- Coordination with event staff and other departments to ensure successful AV delivery and minimal downtime.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
- Associate degree in computer science or a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience; or high school diploma (or equivalent) and four (4) years of experience in computer systems support troubleshooting or maintenance.
- Proficiency in supporting Windows operating systems and related hardware.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and maintain professionalism in a diverse academic environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid South Carolina drivers license required; must be able to drive a van and golf cart.
- Availability to support after-hours and weekend events as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CompTIA certifications: A Network or Security
- Dell Certified DOSD
- Bachelors degree with related experience
- Prior experience supporting AV and sound systems for live events or large-scale presentations
