We are looking for a Child Welfare Supervisor 2 to join our District 4 / Corvallis Child Welfare leading our Permanency Unit.
Summary of Duties
As a Child Welfare Supervisor you will:
Supervision and Engagement: Engage and supervise staff by planning executing monitoring and evaluating activities related to ODHS and Child Welfare.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure staff adhere to good social work practices state and federal laws and department policies. Continuously review programs and standards affecting quality safety and permanency of childrens lives.
Training and Support: Provide general training orientation mentoring and consultations to staff.
Relationship Building: Maintain cooperative relationships with staff community partners children and families.
Service Decisions: Make informed decisions regarding the level and type of services provided to client families.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelors degree in human services or a field related to human services and two years of lead work supervision or progressively related human services experience; or
A bachelors degree unrelated to human services and completion of coursework equivalent to certification consistent with Oregon Caseworker Competency and two years of lead work supervision or progressively related experience in human services; or
An associate degree and three years of human services related experience two years of which must have included lead work supervision or progressively related experience; or
An associate degree and completion of coursework equivalent to certification consistent with Oregon Caseworker Competency AND two years of lead work supervision or progressively related experience in human services.
Essential Attributes
We are looking for candidates with:
Experience in providing clinical supervision that emphasizes task support social and emotional guidance and fostering positive interpersonal interactions.
Experience in supervising activities such as hiring coaching training and staff development.
Experience in conducting and participating in case staffings as well as advising and assisting direct service staff with case planning and caseload management.
Experience in providing instruction demonstrating tasks and observing the skills behaviors strengths and areas for improvement of direct service staff.
Demonstrated knowledge about crisis intervention conflict resolution behavior management and the impact of trauma.
Experience applying ODHS core values the Vision for Transformation and the Oregon Safety Model.
Previous experience in child welfare direct service and leadership is preferred.

Working Conditions
Work Locations: Offices homes of participants and community sites.
Travel: Occasional travel for meetings trainings and other case related activities. This includes required occasional overnight travel.
Hours: Regular work week with fluctuating hours; occasional overtime may be needed including evenings and weekends.
On-Call: Youll be part of a rotating on-call schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements: Frequent physical activity including lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting children with car seats.
This role involves handling sensitive topics related to trauma abuse and crises requiring a trauma-informed approach that is essential to ensure a safe environment.
You may interact with individuals who have experienced trauma and may have difficulty managing their emotions.
Be prepared for stressful situations that require quick decision-making to ensure safety for yourself and others.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Securitys I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States. Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprint-based criminal records check.
A valid drivers license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
