The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) and the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education welcome passionate educators to join our team as an adjunct faculty member. Courses may require teaching in person and there may be a need to be on campus. Some courses may be offered fully online.
The following courses may be offered to part-time adjunct faculty members during the 2025-2026 academic year:
Supervision and Evaluation of School Personnel (EDU 552)
This course provides an overview of supervisory practice in public schools. It draws upon effective schools effective teaching teacher and adult development and supervisory practice literature as a foundation for direct assistance to teachers and general supervisory work. The course includes Maine State Law regarding hiring and dismissal practices just cause contract issues dismissal non-renewal progressive discipline and complaint investigation.
School Finance (EDU 553)
This course presents a comprehensive introduction to resource acquisition management and leadership at the school level. Further it is designed to engage students in exploring the practical realities of resource leadership and to examine in depth their own skills and knowledge in light of their goals for school leadership. Specifically in the course students will:

Part-time faculty members teaching at the University of Maine at Farmington are required to have the appropriate technology to teach in a fully online environment. This includes but is not limited to:
Salary & Benefits:
Part-time faculty members are compensated on a per-credit-hour basis commensurate with qualifications experience and in accordance with the Maine Part-Time Faculty Association (PATFA) contract. Teaching opportunities in future semesters are based on course funding performance need and availability. Continuation is subject to the terms of the PATFA bargaining agreement and other applicable university policies.
Eligible part-time faculty members may elect certain benefitsprovided by the University of Maine System.
