Where youll work:

Depending on the needs of your business area we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.

Youll be assigned to the closest one of our three hub offices Bristol Glasgow or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop is designed to inspire people help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

This role in a nutshell:

As a Senior Product Designer at OVO youll be at the forefront of creating outstanding and easy-to-use experiences across all our products. You will lead key design initiatives strategically develop our interaction patterns and contribute to OVOs wider design vision. Your work will directly shape how users experience our products influencing their success and helping to establish best design practices within OVO.

Your key outcomes will be:

• Deliver Superior Design Solutions: Achieve pixel-perfect design across all screens and platforms by implementing innovative UI/UX practices and refining design systems
• Enhance User Experience: Lead usability studies and A/B testing ensuring our products are intuitive and meet user needs
• Ensure Cross-Platform Consistency: Develop and maintain consistent navigation systems and reusable components for scalability and coherence across platforms
• Mentorship and Collaboration: Provide mentorship to junior designers while effectively collaborating with senior stakeholders and engineers

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver User-Centred Designs: Create intuitive and effective design solutions for product initiatives balancing user needs business goals and OVOs product vision informed by data and commercial awareness
• Develop and Maintain Design Systems: Contribute to OVOs design system by creating scalable components interaction patterns and clear microcopy ensuring consistency and efficiency across our products
• Champion Usability and Accessibility: Plan and conduct usability testing (including A/B tests) analyse findings to improve designs and ensure our products feature clear navigation and information architecture that is accessible to all users
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers engineers and other designers throughout the design and development process providing clear documentation and ensuring high-quality implementation of your designs
• Support Team Growth: Offer guidance and share your design expertise with colleagues contributing to a supportive and collaborative team environment.
• Engage with OVOs Design Community: Actively participate in our Community of Practice by sharing your experiences contributing to discussions and helping to collectively advance our design craft at OVO

Youll be a successful Senior Product Designer at OVO if you

• Solid professional experience in product design with a portfolio showcasing your ability to create user-friendly and visually appealing experiences ideally within a product-focused company
• A strong grasp of UI/UX principles
• Experience working with design systems and component libraries and the ability to design effectively across different platforms
• Proficiency ininteraction design including creating intuitive user flows and engaging micro-interactions and the ability to develop prototypes at various fidelities
• Adata-informed approach to design using insights from user research and metrics to guide your decisions and improve user experiences
• Excellentcommunication skills enabling you to present design concepts clearly collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams and facilitate design discussions
• Auser-centred mindset a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving and managing your design projects
• The ability toadapt to feedback a desire to continuously improve and a resilient attitude when tackling complex design challenges

Well pay you between 70000 and 78000 depending on your specific skills and experience.

Youll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
