Junior Energy Forecasting Analyst
The role will:
- Support the development and improvement of forecasting models using basic ML/statistical techniques
- Automate data preprocessing and forecasting workflows for greater efficiency
- Analyze historical data and market trends to help refine model inputs
- Prepare visualizations and help communicate forecast results to the Sourcing team
- Contribute to day-to-day team operations by integrating forecasts into routine processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally to document reusable insights tools and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Energy Economics Engineering Mathematics or a related field. Masters degree will be considered a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office especially advanced Excel functions and data handling
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts such as regression clustering and time-series modeling
- Hands-on experience through academic projects internships or thesis work involving AI/ML on time-series data
- Familiarity with Python or R and relevant ML/forecasting libraries (e.g. scikit-learn pandas TensorFlow statsmodels XGBoost)
- Comfortable working with large datasets feature engineering and model evaluation
- Fluent in English both written and spoken
- Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities
- Team player with a proactive attitude toward process improvement and knowledge sharing
- Willingness to learn and apply AI/ML techniques in real-world energy forecasting challenges
