Employs accrual principles of accounting to develop prepare processes analyze and compile financial and operating data across multiple real estate joint venture companies while performing a variety of accounting duties. Assists with completion of other department projects as requested.Perform calculations posting of journal entries analysis and reporting for accounting transactions within various real estate joint venture companies. Prepare and maintain account reconciliations across multiple companies.
Assist with research and responses to inquiries from customers suppliers and others.
Compile accurate quarterly GAAP-compliant financial statements including statement of cash flows for multiple real estate joint venture companies. Create and maintain relevant work papers and other documentation to support financial statements.
Prepare and distribute customer invoices maintaining current customer demographics and details.
Research and respond to inquiries from other Nelnet departments or teams.
Apply results of research to the real estate joint venture companies operations and/or specific transactions.
Assist with various accounting projects and report on performance.
Document report and follow through on recommendations from projects.
Meet internal and external financial reporting deadlines and manage expectations through timely updates.
Work with external organizations and internal departments on project initiatives and various accounting issues.
**Pay Range for this role is - $55000 - $60000
4-year degree in accounting
1 years accounting experience
Proficient skills in Microsoft Office including Excel Word and Outlook. Ability to create Excel documents using a variety of formulas and Excel tools.
Strong accountability for work: timely completion of tasks working with manager to develop and achieve position goals communication of task/project delays.
Able to prioritize and deliver under deadline constraints and manage multiple tasks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work with a team or independently with initiative and appropriate supervision.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Understanding of complex accounting concepts and strong knowledge of GAAP including consolidation accounting.
