Job Description
1st Shift Compounder
Rate: $22/hr
Hours: 6am-3pm
Cincinnati OH
C-D
Responsibilities:
- Setup operate and tend to equipment that heats mixes blends and/or processes ingredients in the manufacturing of food products.
- Mix measure and weigh ingredients.
- Determine mixing sequences based on knowledge of temperature effects and the solubility of specific ingredients.
- Place products on carts to transfer them to the next stage of processing.
- Fill kettles tanks or pots with ingredients by opening valves starting pumps or directly by hand using pipettes or cups.
- Reads production schedule customer order work order shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved gathered or distributed.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Uses computer to enter and maintain inventory records.
- Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Operate forklift and other conveyance equipment.
- Reports food safety issues to the Production Manager or Operations Director.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Perform to addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
- Perform these operations using units of American money and metric weight measurement and volume.
- Should have knowledge of inventory software.
- Must be able to obtain OSHA required forklift certification.
- Regularly lift to 50 pounds (22.6 kgs) without assistance and move up to 600-pound (272 kgs) drums using appropriate equipment e.g. power floor jack drum dolly and/or forklift.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
