Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain secure code with a focus on best practices in software development.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments on applications and infrastructure to identify security weaknesses.
- Implement security controls and measures across the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with development teams to incorporate security into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Design and conduct security training and awareness programs for developers.
- Participate in incident response efforts to mitigate and analyze security breaches.
- Perform threat modeling to identify potential threats and develop strategies to address them.
- Automate security processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends vulnerabilities and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with compliance teams to ensure all security practices align with industry regulations.
- Review and improve existing security policies and procedures.
- Test and evaluate new security tools and technologies for implementation.
- Engage in peer code reviews with a focus on security implications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members on security best practices.
- Contribute to building a robust security-focused culture within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in software development preferably with a focus on security.
- Strong understanding of secure coding principles and practices.
- Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities (e.g. OWASP Top Ten).
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python Ruby or Bash.
- Hands-on experience with DevSecOps practices and tools.
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts and tools.
- Ability to analyze and respond to security incidents efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Certification in security (CISSP CEH or similar) is a plus.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001 GDPR HIPAA) is preferred.
