Job Description

Job Title: School Operations Specialist

Full-Time 12 Month Level 2

Reports To: Director of School Operations

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School is a tuition-free public charter high school with a singular focus on supporting youth aged 17-20 who have been pushed out of traditional schools. During our 1-year alternative program Youthbuild facilitates a warm loving culture that uses a variety of structures to build community such as a restorative-justice approach to discipline weekly community meetings and school-wide service projects. Students are empowered to attain their high school diploma and vocational certifications while receiving unconditional support by the staff around them. At YouthBuild we work intentionally to disrupt the cycle of poverty and support our students to achieve post-secondary success (4-year college 2-year college vocational training program or liveable wage job). The Opportunity:

The YouthBuild School Operations Specialist works directly with the Director of Operations and alongside the operations team to ensure that the school is run in an orderly and effective manner. Key responsibilities include recruitment and enrollment management administrative support event planning support and supporting the schools operational systems and infrastructure.

  • At least 2 years of previous experience in recruitment marketing education and/or customer service (or some combination demonstrating readiness for the role).
  • A Bachelors Degree (not required but preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to execute initiatives and work collaboratively relative to a school-wide recruitment program.
  • Experience in a student services environment and a strong commitment to customer service with students colleagues and community partners. Experience with school compliance and/or the desire to learn.
Requirements

What Youll Do:

  • Support the planning and execution of student recruitment related activities.
  • Manage the enrollment paperwork process and ensure that all appropriate paperwork is gathered during the enrollment process.
  • Monitor the reporting of student enrollment metrics outcomes statistics to various stakeholders.
  • Manage all calls and applicant communication regarding recruitment and enrollment.
  • Provide assistance to the Director of School Operations in planning and executing school events and other special projects as needed.
  • Assist front office responsibilities including greeting visitors answering phones and maintaining a welcoming school atmosphere.
  • Assist with the planning organizing and coordinating functions relating to the school operations.
  • Manage student and alumni records including collecting filling and supporting students with obtaining vital documents.
  • Oversee supply inventory procurement and vendor relationships to maintain operational readiness.
  • Managing transportation food services and other logistical elements of school operations.
  • Support facilities maintenance by coordinating repairs custodial services and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide mentorship to a cohort of 45 students offering consistent academic and personal support to help them stay on track toward meeting graduation requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of School Operations.

Salary Range:

New YouthBuild staff can expect a starting salary of between $46000-$55000 based on years of experience education and certifications if applicable.
