Position Purpose:The Business Strategy Specialist collaboratively facilitates the organizational planning process and supports Business Strategy projects to ensure effective implementation of AACNs strategic plans. This position collaborates with the analytics team to partner with product and program owners on the development of formal business plans. Additionally it supports teams in making business strategy-related decisions for new and existing products programs and services.
This position leads the strategic planning process by collaborating with the Executive Team to gain validation of AACNs highest level strategies with the Board of Directors. With support from administrative staff this position also gathers input from team members across the organization to develop and validate the organizations business strategies and report on the organizations progress against implementation project plans. The Specialist ensures that the organizations strategic plan remains relevant and organizes and facilitates strategic discussions among organization leaders by bringing data and information together in a meaningful way to inform decision-making about resource planning and project prioritization.
Main Accountabilities:
Consult on Business Planning
Support business plan development for new programs initiatives and product launches and maintain cross-functional alignment with marketing teams finance analytics and pricing to ensure thoughtful detailed and actionable business plans are developed.
Consult product and program owners on business opportunities and conduct research to determine the feasibility of new partnerships products and services.
Research assigned business problems and opportunities prepare comprehensive planning documents and recommendations and present findings to organizational leadership for data-based decision making.
Prepare business intelligence presentations based on environmental scanning industry trends and recent survey data for leaders.
Develop Data Reporting Structure
Creates and guides others in creating useful reports using selected software to inform the strategic planning process for the Board of Directors and leaders throughout the organization.
Generate meaningful user-friendly reports and dashboards using software tools to summarize input and data on goal progress project progress and resource utilization.
Create simple input forms for various contributors to enter data and information which will inform quarterly reviews.
Prepare training materials (e.g. video recordings presentations written guides etc.) and conduct training for team members on the use of reports and input forms.
Design custom reports as needed by leaders and board members.
Facilitate Strategic Planning Process
Engage business unit leaders and other team members at all levels to support the annual strategic planning process by gathering input and data to inform decision-making; validate and develop organizational business and implementation strategies based on environmental trends and organizational data.
Collaboratively identify resource constraints and facilitate discussions to find solutions by maintaining cross-functional alignment with marketing communications IT finance analytics and other support teams. Facilitate cross-functional meetings document and validate key decisions and action items.
Prepare for quarterly reviews of the organizations progress against goals and planned projects providing guidance and utilizing administrative assistance in gathering input from various parties. Develop reports and other support materials and facilitate meeting discussions.
Communicate decisions made in the strategic planning process to all team members within the organization by delivering presentations and preparing other forms of organization-wide communication.

Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with an ability to delegate assignments and proactively take initiative.
Demonstrated project management skills including facilitating large meetings and documenting decisions and action of professional project management methodologies and tools.
Ability and skill in identifying performance gaps strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work well with all levels of staff and influence the direction of complex large-scale business projects. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative shared leadership environment.
Must demonstrate strong analytical critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply modern technologies concepts and functionality to solve problems and implement solutions.
Ability to assess upstream and downstream impacts of issues along with the critical thinking and decision-making required to achieve expected goals and objectives.
Demonstrated ability to provide consultation or expert advice to management on areas of expertise. Demonstrated ability to carry out major assignments which requires the ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Possesses broad business knowledge and an ability to link customer needs with business processes.
Experience with computer applications for reporting project planning and resource planning. Must have expertise in the use of Smartsheet.
Must have a good working knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft (e.g. Word PowerPoint and Excel) or Google Suite.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related field is required; a Masters degree is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in strategic planning analysis and business plan development which includes leadership of matrixed teams meeting facilitation experience and successful implementation of business strategies to expand an organizations market share.

Total Compensation:
The target pay range for this role is $99530 - $124412
