About this Job
The mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation treatment habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs provided include inpatient interventions jail based evaluations supervised group home and residential programs forensic evaluation care custody and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric are a coordination with the total system of care in Louisiana.

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) plus:
A masters degree in social work followed by four years of social services experience.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:- This position supervises the social work services to clients with behavioral health diagnoses treatment and treatment monitoring.
- Directly supervises the social services unit staff.
- Ensures the coordination and monitoring of specialized community based forensic mental health services at the regional level in metropolitan Orleans and Jefferson area jails and prisons.
- Guides and provides expertise to staff with a specialized case load of clients including those with multiple psychiatric diagnoses as well as to state criminal district court judges assistant district attorneys psychiatrists psychologists board certified social workers nurses and substance abuse counselors.
- Provides supervision and guidance for the coordination of forensic after care clinic client health information and records.
- May attend court as needed. Monitors and evaluates the quality of behavioral health care received by jail based clients especially as it pertains to medication compliance and level of care need.
- Attends and actively participates in all staffing/meetings/mandatory trainings for professional development. Adheres to all Joint Commission and CFS policy and procedure with regard to documentation.
- Participate in education trainings that are mandatory for accreditation and licensure of the facility.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a Probational Appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agency wide permanent status employees); or by Detail to Special Duty. Current permanent status classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointed if selected.

Compensation: Salary is negotiable based on experience. ELMHS offers a Special Entry Rate (SER): $2490.40 Biweekly / $31.13 per/hr. ELMHS offers a premium pay for facility longevity: Starting at $2.00 per hour physically worked.
