Job Description
Saratoga Medical is currently hiring a Full-Time Interoperative Neuromonitoring Technician IONMat Fort Sam Houston San Antonio TX. The position includes a competitive rate PTO paid federal holidays medical benefits and flexible scheduling.
Position Summary:
- The IONM Technologist provides real-time neurophysiological monitoring during surgical procedures to reduce the risk of neurological deficits. Technologists work closely with surgeons anesthesiologists and neurophysiologists to ensure patient safety and surgical success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monitoring during spinal (75%) and cranial (25%) surgeries using modalities including:
- SSEP Transcranial MEP EMG EEG Phase Reversal ECOG
- Pedicle screw stimulation cranial nerve monitoring and rare procedures like D-waves direct cortical stimulation sphincter EMG
- Maintain continuous communication with the surgeon and neurophysiologist
- Set up test and troubleshoot all monitoring equipment pre- intra- and post-operatively
- Document and report significant waveform changes per facility protocol
- Comply with sterile procedures OR safety HIPAA standards and documentation requirements
- Support continuity of care; remain past shift end if critical to patient outcome
- Re-deploy within facility during low caseload periods if required
Required Qualifications:
- Certification: CNIM (ABRET) or Certification from ABNM (mandatory)
- Training: Minimum 12 weeks of hands-on IONM training
- Experience: Prior OR-based neurophysiological monitoring preferred
