As a global leader in the collectibles world with brands like Beckett Dragon Shield and Southern Hobby were looking for a Senior Manager of Global Communications who doesnt just know our industry they live it. What Youll Be Doing External Communications - Being Our Voice to the World Global Media Relations & PR: - Craft media strategies that resonate from the game & card shops of Main Street U.S.A. to the trading card cafes of Tokyo
- Build relationships with journalists in the collectibles hobby and TCG spaces (ex. Cllct The Athletic ICv2 Polygon etc.)
- Work with our internal marketing teams to help drive our influencer and content creator strategy across our brands
- Determine our use of agencies and consultants that can help drive our messaging across the globe
- Create materials and talking points that speak to both industry veterans and newcomers
- Monitor the pulse of global collecting and TCG communities from Cllct to Reddit threads to local game store conversations
- Prepare our executives to speak about collecting culture whether theyre addressing media financial analysts or hobby shop owners
- Coordinate communications and media around major business developments financial happenings partnerships and product launches across all brands
Crisis & Issues Management: - Develop and execute comprehensive crisis communication protocols and response procedures
- Monitor brand mentions sentiment analysis and competitive intelligence across global markets using social listening tools
- Lead communications during product issues grading disputes or service disruptions
- Establish early warning systems to identify potential issues before they escalate
- Develop a strong partnership with our legal and HR teams to improve efficiency and efficacy during times of crisis
- Manage cross-functional crisis response teams and communication workflows
Thought Leadership & Content Development: - Position Collctvus as the brand that truly gets the hobby not just another corporate entity but fellow collectors who also happen to run a business
- Collaborate with our product & marketing teams graders and analysts to create content that collectors and gamers want to read
- Secure speaking or panel opportunities at major conventions and events (MagicCon Fanatics Fest Gen Con Pokmon Worlds The National) where our executives can connect directly with the community
- Raise the profile of our executive team by guiding their presence on LinkedIn their interactions with creators and influencers and their relationship with the press
- Develop insights that help shape the future of collecting from market trends to preservation techniques to community building
Own the External Collctvus Brand: - Be the brand owner for Collctvus externally ensuring our voice tone messaging logos colors fonts etc. match the brand positioning that we are aiming for
- Develop and own our Collctvus style guide pitch book and marketing toolkit
- Protect and elevate the Collctvus brand across all channels and forums including trademark and brand usage monitoring
- Run our Collctvus Holdings LinkedIn page and partner with HR and Marketing to develop a content strategy that is innovative and brand-enhancing
- Own and ensure it matches the standards style and tone we have set for the brand
- Ensure our external-facing content (job descriptions social posts press releases etc.) meets or exceeds our quality standards and aligns with our brand guidelines
- Develop content governance standards for user-generated content and community interactions
Legal & Compliance Communications: - Coordinate regulatory communications and compliance messaging across global markets
- Build legal review processes for external communications and marketing materials
- Handle communications related to industry regulations authentication standards and grading protocols
Internal Communications - Keeping Our Team Connected Strategic Internal Communications: - Own our internal communications strategy and execution aiming for a mixture of consistency quality and timeliness of messaging
- Create internal content that keeps our globally distributed team connected to both business objectives and the collector community we serve
- Play the role of internal Editor-in-Chief ensuring anything we share internally matches our Collctvus voice and exceeds our high-quality standards
- Guide internal communications during key moments ensuring our team understands not just what were doing but why it matters
- Partner with leadership and HR to develop an employee branding strategy that sets us apart from other employers and competitors
- Own our quarterly all-hands meeting agenda and coordinate content delivery
- Partner with our CMO and EVP of Finance on building our quarterly BoD decks and other investor updates
Employee Engagement & On-Boarding: - Develop comprehensive onboarding communications for new employees to understand company culture and the collector community we serve
- Coordinate cross-functional communications between brands (Beckett Dragon Shield Southern Hobby) to ensure alignment and collaboration
- Manage change management communications during organizational transitions new product launches or strategic shifts
Internal Crisis & Change Management: - Create and maintain internal crisis communication protocols and procedures
- Coordinate internal communications during challenging periods ensuring transparency while maintaining morale
- Develop communication strategies for organizational changes or policy/tariff updates
Analytics & Measurement - Proving Our Impact Data-Driven Communications: - Establish KPIs and comprehensive reporting frameworks for communication effectiveness across all channels
- Conduct regular brand health studies and communication audits to measure perception and reach
- Track media coverage quality reach and sentiment across global markets and brands
- Measure internal communication engagement and effectiveness through surveys and analytics
- Use data insights to continuously improve communication strategies and tactics
- Provide regular reporting to leadership on communication performance
What Were Looking For The Essentials: - Bachelors degree in Communications Public Relations Journalism or related field
- 8 years of corporate communications or PR experience ideally with global reach
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to adapt your voice for different audiencesfrom hardcore collectors to business media to international partners
- Proven track record building media relationships across multiple regions ideally including Asia and Japan (where collecting culture has unique characteristics)
- Experience managing global PR strategy and understanding cultural nuances in communications
- Crisis communications experience (because sometimes even the best companies face challenges)
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work across time zones and cultures
- Proficiency in standard business tools and communications platforms
- Direct experience in collectibles gaming or adjacent hobby industries
- Personal involvement or understanding of the collecting culture or the trading card game world
- Masters degree in Communications PR or related field
- Background coaching executives on media readiness and community engagement
